DGCC's Aquatic Center
From Memorial Day weekend through mid-September, the Dubuque Golf and Country Club pool is open for members and their guests to enjoy the best in swimming, diving, lap swimming, and water aerobics. Our staff conducts swim lessons for the kids and exercise classes for adults of all ages throughout the summer.
The Aquatic CenterThe Dubuque Golf and Country Club's Aquatic Center features a heated pool with a 12-foot diving well, lap lanes, and children's pool with a zero-depth entry area. Both are surrounded by an expansive deck with both comfortable lounge chairs and umbrella-covered tables.
Weather permitting, the swimming pool complex opens for the first day of swimming on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. Once school is out for the summer, the pool is available for open swim (see hours, above) every day, again, weather permitting. (While school is still in session, the pool will open for limited hours on weekday afternoons, and all day on Saturday and Sunday.
All members of the life guard staff at the Club have completed, and are certified through the American Red Cross first aid and water safety training program. In addition, each year our staff receives further on-site rescue training in conjunction with the Dubuque Fire Department.
Dress Code
As a family Club, we will not allow thongs, Brazilian cut, or transparent swim wear. Swim attire is required in the water: One-piece, two-piece, or tankini suits for ladies/girls; swim trunks for men/boys; surf/swim shirts (Lycra/nylon) designed for water use are all appropriate. If a member or their guest violates this rule, they will be asked to leave the area.Children's Swim Lessons
The Club offers swimming lessons to our young members beginning at age 4. Lessons are one-half hour in length and are scheduled on Monday mornings. The one-to-one ratio with the instructor allows each child to develop at his or her own pace. There are five levels for each swimmer to pass through: Tadpole, Minnow, Jellyfish, Seal, and Shark. Each child will need to pass a skills test before moving to the next level.
Hot Eats & Cool TreatsAdjacent to the pool area is the Snack Bar. The Snack Bar serves snacks and yummy summertime favorites to Mom, Dad, the kids, and their guests. Grab a candy bar, a soda, or an ice cream treat to cool you down on a hot summer day! Menu service is available around the pool deck and at the Bistro area daily.
